I've submitted my portfolio and resume to an international video game company here in Chengdu called Nibiru Tech / Tap 4 Fun. They make mobile phone and tablet games. I'm hoping they will be impressed enough with my work to offer me full-time employment. I'm still waiting to hear back from them.
Rachel has been telling me about her university classes, and encouraging me to apply for a teaching position there. I'm a bit put-off by the fact that she hasn't been paid yet. Say what you will about the management of EF, but they have paid me on time every month and fulfilled all of their other contractual obligations.
There's also Kwin's company, Holotech. Which I recently did some work for by modeling a pair of Oakley sunglasses. The project was given to me at the last moment, just before the weekend. (Which is the busiest part of my work week of course.) But I was able to finish the model.
The day after my birthday, I got together with Nick, Jess, Frank, Rachel, Shawn, and a new local friend names Jokie. As it turns out Rachel's birthday was on the 25th and Jokie's birthday was the week before on the 15th. So Rachel, Jess, Frank and I met up at the SOHO building to eat at the Indian restaurant there. Once we were finished me moseyed upstairs to the Hakka Bar for brownies, cookies, and drinks.
In the meantime, I've booked my flights home with the help of Jokie and a local travel agency. I will be flying in to Chicago on June 21st, where I hope to visit my cousin Katie and her girlfriend, as well as Alicia. Then I'll spend a few weeks back home with Michigan before heading down to visit my other friends down in Florida, leaving from Orlando on July 20th. As much as I've enjoyed my time in China so far, I am looking forward to the trip home. Hopefully, I will already have a job secured and waiting for me when I return.
